The Curious Case of Being Overwhelmed

By

Being overwhelmed, an abhorrent case for many often leads to a palpable malady.

Some say, being overwhelmed is an emotion, whereas, for most of them, it is a sign of depression; as we continuously oscillate between what is true, and whether we can relate ourselves to that truth.

For instance, I’am a writer and an author; also a Toastmaster and a volunteer. Deciding to choose the right path, often led me to miserable consequences that I never really excelled at any of these.

I have heard from many that we need to prioritize tasks. But, when we live a materialistic life, often, prioritizing a task comes with a cost. That is, we are in a constant state of a tug-of-war situation between the ‘self’ and the ‘realism’.

We know that being an author is attested with finesse. I have done enough studies on how to be a successful author, and have achieved success in the name of two books.

Well, then you might wonder, what in the world causes me to be overwhelmed?

I have two reasons to state that:

  1. What started as a passion, has turned out to be a need to reach the Apex. Which is the TRUTH that I mentioned earlier.
  2. The constant struggle to reach there, despite having the know-how, is the fact REALISM, also mentioned earlier.

So, as you may see, our mind makes us believe that we can achieve the TRUTH. But, with the passing of time, there is this eviction of that truth due to a constant reminder of the REALISM.

This realism varies from person to person, as it comes with their experiences of their materialistic world.

My statement here provokes a reality. Why do we have so many writers who never made it to be an author? and authors like me, never reminisce about their past glory.

So, naturally, this leads us to be overwhelmed, and the result is we quit writing altogether. It is a slow death.

This happens with my other areas of interest as well.

So, what is the possible solution?

ENJOY THE PROCESS, and I guarantee that this is without a debate.

Contrary to what people say that you will be a successful writer or a Toastmaster or a volunteer, if you work really work hard, well, unless you do not enjoy the process, you can never really make it. Forget the Apex, you will not reach the starting line for that matter.

Read your mind and analyze it. Take a deep breath and let all your overwhelming situation fizz away.

When you know what you want, do not think too much about realism. Realism exists in the outer world and is something that should not corrupt your own ‘self’.

If you think about realism, you are thinking about the materialistic life, which is okay to a certain extent. But, let it not quarry you so much that it would poison your ‘self’ and distract you from your focus on achieving what you really want.

Remember to enjoy the process, and it will keep your monkey mind free.

Going by the adage – You will not get what is NOT destined for you; is a best-kept nature’s secret.

Therefore, ENJOY THE PROCESS, and let the process guide you to eternal success.
