Connecting to our Source

Meditation is an art of doing nothing. Its total de-concentration. And, what do we get?

I was curious what the ChatGPT app had to say about the benefits of meditation. The response was almost instant, as if it had a ‘Theta’ mindset. It stretched out a neat five seconds summary.

What astonished me was that the Large Language Model OpenAI application was not speculative, but, it was accurate in generating the information.

It talked about building self-awareness, practicing mindfulness, bringing peace in one-self etc., which is perfect to begin with.

The trend of the modern-day society is such that, no one is really concerned about a curse which the materialistic world brings forth. It is called the ‘Stress’.  Rightfully, stress is the heir apparent of misery and termed as a silent killer. Studies reveal that the most difficult task to encounter in the future would be, but, stress.

Often, we might have experienced a common notion in us when stressed – When one is pickled due to stress, the mind focuses on a depressing pattern called – Fight or Flee. Psychologists say it’s the prevailing trend today among the young and the old, which brings unrest and uncertainty, and the root cause of all violence.

To overcome this habitual pattern, one needs to see reality through the eye of our mind.

Normally, we observe that, it is the mind which controls our senses. But, is there a way where we could do the opposite? where we can control our mind?

The answer is a big YES fortunately, and it is by the practice of ‘Meditation’.

To hold on to the chaos is a cardinal sin, but, we would never let it go as our brain is programmed in such a way that it focuses and clings only on the negative aspects of the human life. In turn, it makes our life miserable.

The transition from chaos to calmness lies in our breath pattern. We might have observed that when stressed, we breath faster; and when we are calm, the breath naturally becomes slower. So, if we practice meditation, we are in control of our breath patterns, which has a direct impact on our mind.

Surprisingly, for many, meditation is an enigma. It was, even for me, until I practiced it and put the practice in place.

There were times, when, I would remember my day when I sit to meditate. I would do nothing but think about my day, as if that was meditation. I could not stop it from occurring, until my friend told me that it was quite normal to happen. He informed me that I was letting out the chaotic day pass by and eventually I would return. Unknowingly, deep inside there is a cleansing happening as I was releasing the chaotic day and returning to my source.

Many has seen unseen miracles happen due to this – some are cured of their anxiety and depression problems. And when it happens, you are in a different dimension altogether. Some experience better standards of life, some exhibit traits of creativity, and some find the most needed inner peace.

Is this just because of meditation?

Yes, it is. The human body is considered – unique and powerful, beyond anything one could express it.

It derives the energy from the nature. We are considered power centres of a greater source. Meditation is the only way to connect to that source.

Therefore, reiterating the need of a calmer mind for a better future, and to control the chaotic experiences of life, it’s imperative that we practice meditation daily.

Let’s just remember that this human life is for once, and to take it to the apex is our right. And what better way it is, than let go of our chaos and enhance our self through meditation?

After all, we are here to blossom and not to wither away!
